The Diet Plan – Are you addicted to food

[ad_1]

Jill and Sheila have weighed more than 200 pounds each. They were my friends rather than clients. Both lived out of town, so when we saw each other it was a pretty big deal.

One thing I’ve noticed with all of them is that when they were about to come and see me, they always asked about food. What would we visit the restaurants? If we have pizza on Wednesday, we’ll eat Chinese Friday.

There seemed food was on their minds constantly.

addiction specialists look for two major symptoms today when they diagnose a person with an addiction. The first symptom is a concern with the drug. The second is the compulsive use.

concern, of course, means that you are always thinking about your medicine. Even if you do not, you are thinking about doing so. Perhaps you’re thinking about the last time you did it, or the next time you will.

Your whole life revolves around the drug.

compulsive use is almost a ritual type of use. Maybe you use before or after you have sex, or while watching TV.

Now, instead of the words “drugs” and “use”, the words “food” and “eat”. Scary, is not it?

Yes, you definitely can become addicted to food and I am convinced my friends were Jill and Sheila. So what do you do if you think this is your problem?

Will is not enough.

Well, first of all, the will not work. You have deep beliefs that need to be changed if you are going to lose a lot of weight. How do you do that?

Your current beliefs were not created overnight. You developed over a period of several years, much like a scientist trying to prove his theory correct. You start with your theory, and spend the rest of your life gather evidence that this is true.

Maybe you do not actually create your theory. Maybe your parents have given you the theory, and you unquestionably accepted as your own, as children often do.

The solution is to create a new theory, which is conducive to your have the body of your dreams. Then spend the rest of your life gather evidence to prove that it’s true. How do you do that?

Maybe you’ve been told you’re lazy, too lazy to stick to a workout program. This is where the will comes in. Make a drive to point, at least a little every day.

Finally, your lazy belief will start to fade. But what if you were told that you were big bones, and people with your body type can never be thin? Again, look for evidence to prove that theory wrong.

Look for role models as actors and other celebrities who have built large, but has managed to shed the weight anyway. Maybe you know someone personally who fits the bill.

Despite what your current beliefs are, no one is to be heavy. Anyone can lose as much weight as they want.
